Monumental Cemetery of Bonaria - Virtual Tour 360°

The Monumental Cemetery of Bonaria is located in Cagliari, in the district of the same name.

Used between 1829 and 1968, the cemetery, which originally occupied an area at the base of the Bonaria hill, was extended in subsequent extensions to its top.

The main entrance is located in Piazza Cimitero, while a secondary entrance is in via Ravenna, behind the basilica of Bonaria.

Several illustrious personalities were buried in Bonaria: among the best known are the canon archaeologist Giovanni Spano, the tenor Piero Schiavazzi, the general Carlo Sanna, the historic mayor of Cagliari Ottone Bacaredda and the architect Francesco Giarrizzo, author of the facade of the Cathedral of Cagliari.
