Italian Latin American Institute


The Italian-Latin American Institute (or Italian-Latin American International Organization or also Italian-Latin American Institute) (IILA) is an intergovernmental organization founded in Rome in 1966 and active in the cultural, scientific and development cooperation fields. The Institute collaborates with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on whose behalf it implements finalized projects.

Italy and the twenty republics of Latin America are part of the Italo-Latin American Institute: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua , Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela. The Institute was created under the International Convention signed on June 1, 1966 and entered into force, following ratification by member states, on December 11, 1966.
