Castiglioncello

Founded 1200 years ago, it was established as a fortified village thanks to Florence which, in the 14th century, built a border post between itself and Romagna to better control the border. In fact, the turbulent Apennine families, like the warlike Ubaldini, created many problems. Therefore, being located in a strategic area, a new road was traced to the valley which, however, was already a rather uncomfortable mule track in the seventeenth century. In the following centuries it lost much of its importance due to the construction of bridges and new roads that led to its circumvention. In the 19th century, now isolated from the main communication routes, it slowly began to depopulate, reaching 19 inhabitants in 1931. After 1945, the failure to connect electricity and the failure to build a bridge sentenced the town to death. And so in 1962, it became a ghost village with vegetation to dominate.

It is almost certain that Castiglioncello has become a destination for satanic sects to officiate black masses. Already the Santerno valley has long been the subject of great interest by fans of Satanism. Many altars and other signs were found on Monte la Fine (near Castel del Rio) and in Tirli, where up to a few years an exorcist priest officiated.
