Donnas

Via Don Galas passed through Donnas in Roman times, a Roman consular road built by Augustus to connect the Po Valley with Gaul. A well-preserved stretch of road exists at the beginning of the village. Once the village stood less than a kilometer west of the village of Tréby: in 1176 a huge landslide destroyed the village and the primitive church. The village was then rebuilt close to the rocky wall.

It was an important economic and administrative center until the end of the 17th century, under the direct control of the Savoy and the lords of Pont-Saint-Martin. The route of the Via Francigena Valdostana, coming from Bard and subsequently directed towards Pont-Saint-Martin, passes through the Municipality and inside the village.
