MACBA: Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona

The Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona, also known as MACBA, is basically dedicated to the exhibition of works made during the second half of the 20th century.

The design of the museum was entrusted to the American architect Richard Meier.

The building designed by Meier intends to combine contemporary works of art on display inside with the shapes of neighboring historic buildings.

The entrance to the MACBA allows access to a cylindrical hall from which a series of mechanical ramps lead to the various exhibition galleries.

The exhibition includes works of visual art belonging to various technical fields: canvases, photographs, films, compositions.

Momentarily among the exhibited works there are those of Matta, Fahlstrom, Brassaï, Palazuelo, Roth, Broodthaers, Spero, Balcells, Creischer.
