Roseto degli Abruzzi is an Italian town in the province of Teramo in Abruzzo, overlooking the Adriatic Sea and between the mouths of the rivers Vomano (south) and Tordino (north), it is the tenth municipality by population in the Abruzzo region. . It is one of the largest municipalities on the Teramo coast and, after the capital, it is the most populous of its province. In the last decade, Roseto has been affected by a significant demographic increase, thanks to the development of some residential areas overlooking the Adriatic, the Borsacchio district and the hamlets of San Giovanni, Campo a Mare and Voltarrosto.

The lower town is a well-equipped and popular seaside resort and its coast is also known as the tourist name of Lido delle Rose. Since 1999 it has been awarded the Blue Flag. Roseto is located on the Adriatic coast at 5 meters above sea level. between the mouths of the Vomano river and that of the Tordino river. The urban fabric develops on a flat area that occupies the area of ​​the coast; to the west the city also extends over the surrounding hills, the hamlet of Montepagano with its 285 m altitude dominates the entire municipal landscape.

The city is affected by the presence of groundwater, which with seasonal excursions, also come up by a meter, especially in spring, following the melting of the snow on the mountains. The coast where the city extends was once almost entirely occupied by marshes.
