Varallo


Varallo, also known as "Varallo Sesia", is an Italian town in the province of Vercelli in Piedmont, located in Valsesia. It is the largest municipality [4] in the province of Vercelli. Recognized as a city, and as a city of art, it rises along the banks of the Sesia and is divided into two parts by the Mastallone stream, its tributary, which separates the historic center, known as Varallo Vecchio, from the more recent areas.

It combines industrial and tourist activities. It is dominated by the Sacro Monte di Varallo, one of the major places of worship of Catholicism in Piedmont, which annually attracts thousands of tourists. From 1 January 2018, through incorporation, it acquires the municipality of Sabbia.
