The Salone delle Fontane, located in the center of Eur, covers an area of ​​over 2 thousand square meters and constitutes one of the most representative locations in the receptive panorama of the capital. An area where it is possible to organize conventions, meetings and exhibitions.
The scenically enriched entrance with fountains decorated with mosaics, granite stairways, colonnades and well-kept gardens, introduces this monumentalist work of architecture conceived by the architect Gaetano Minnucci in the early 1940s on the occasion of the Universal Exposition scheduled for 1942 , as an expression of Italian Rationalism, an architectural trend that developed in Italy in the 1920s and 1930s in connection with the International Modern Movement, following the principles of functionalism, which continued in various ways until the 1970s.
