Lispida Castle

The monastery of Lispida, built in an isolated and peaceful position, was always a place full of charm, as well as an ideal environment for the cultivation of vines and olives. In 1485 the Doge of the Republic of Venice Giovanni Mocenigo confiscated the property from the monks: "so that the vineyards, olive trees and fields are not abandoned, they are sown and cultivated in the right season, and the hill stone is sent to us regularly".

The monastic history of Lispida was interrupted in 1792. The property was later purchased by the Corinaldi Counts, who built the buildings we see today on the remains of the old monastery, equipped them with imposing cellars and began the production of renowned wines throughout Europe. During the First World War, Lispida Castle hosted the headquarters of King Vittorio Emanuele III°.

At the end of the 1950s, with the planting of new vineyards and with winemaking programs linked to traditional pre-industrial production processes, the company resumed its wine-growing vocation.
