Leonetti Palace

Leonetti Palace is an Art Nouveau style building in Naples; it is located along the Via dei Mille, in the Amedeo district, in the Chiaia district, and is the seat of the British Consulate and the Spanish Consulate.

The palace was designed by the architect Giulio Ulisse Arata between 1908 and 1910; in the original plan it should have been used as a hotel, but the destination was changed to rental houses. The construction typology of the building is influenced by the historical presence of the street: in fact it is characterized by a U-shaped plan, thus creating a space intended for a garden as happens in Palazzo d'Avalos del Vasto.

The external decorations are of classical inspiration as can be seen from the gables of the windows, but there is also a fine floral stucco decoration and the metal balustrades of the balconies refer to the modernist taste.
