Garibaldi Theatre

It was way back in 1913 when the knight Giuseppe Gambina built, in Vittoria's main street (Ragusa - Sicilia), the first cinema named after Garibaldi, Art Nouveau style.

He had started shyly, but his passion for cinema was so dazzling that it was passed on to all his successors: his daughter and son-in-law built the Barone cinema in 1956, while his son Sebastiano designed and built the CINEMA GOLDEN in 1970 adding, five years more later, the multipurpose space of the GOLDEN HALL.

In 2013 the Gambina family celebrated its 100 years of activity (from the first cinema entitled Garibaldi to the Multiplex Golden) under the direction of Giuseppe Gambina, Sebastiano's son who admits to having inherited a real disease from his father and grandfather for cinema.

A precious legacy which, in turn, it has passed on to its children. He was responsible for the transformation, which took place in 2009, of the Golden Cinema into a modern digitized multiplex. Certainly the various crises that have marked the history of cinema in Italy have also affected the Golden.
