Tartaro Theatre Gallery

Theater with the Art Nouveau (Italian Liberty) style facade is a piece of History of the City of Galatina finally returned to it, a piece of the urban fabric that is recovered, enhanced, ennobled and returned to the everyday life of all citizens, who see their perception of the urban space paradoxically amplified by a closed space, which closed not is.

The Building and Functional renovation of the "Ex TARTARO Cinema" is a cleverly coordinated process to recover an old building that is now unusable and close to collapse, which has been in disuse for about twenty years.

Born in the winds, strongly desired by the Tartaro family, in the midst of the architectural spirit influenced by the "Art Nouveau", and inaugurated in 1930.

How Teatro had experienced its most glorious season in the twenty years to come, a cultural landmark in the province, together with the theaters of the capital.

At the same time a new function has been introduced. In fact, on the third floor of the building, along with the cinema room, a two-level Lounge Bar Restaurant has been created, one of which is completely in steel and glass.

Everything is articulated around what is an enclosed space but turns out to be like a square that communicates with the surrounding urban fabric and the sky through an aluminum and glass cover, like an eye that looks upwards.
