Pastore Palace

The neoclassical building takes its name from the first owner, Giuseppe Ignazio Pastore, who purchased the area where a previous sixteenth-century building once stood. He had the new palace built starting in 1823.

The architect was probably the architect from Brescia Rodolfo Vantini. The building, which has two frescoed apartments on the upper floor and utility rooms on the ground floor, passed over time to the members of the same Pastore family, one of the richest in Castiglione.

Famous people were hosted in the palace, including Amedeo di Savoia in 1866. The family remained the owner of the palace until Alceo Pastore, whose heirs shared the property around 1950. In 1973 the Municipality became the owner and began major restoration works .
