The Ex Cinema Theater Italy was inaugurated in 1916 after two years of work in Campiello de l'Anconeta, Canareggio (Venice). It was designed by Giovanni Sardi in Art Nouveau style.
Now this Cinema Theater has turned into a supermarket.
A new Despar Supermarket has been built inside a neo-Gothic and early 20th century Art Nouveau building (Italian Art Nouveau), in the structure that once housed the former Cinema Teatro Italia, owned by the Coin family.
The restoration of the building was carried out in close collaboration and under the supervision of the Superintendency, as was the setting up of the supermarket: the sophisticated solutions for shelves, lighting and systems have in fact taken into account the need to preserve the integrity of the halls and decorations.
Eco-sustainable measures have been adopted for its construction.
