Roman Maritime Villa of Minori

The Roman Villa of Minori is the archaeological site of a Roman villa of the 1st century AD located in the municipality of Minori, in Campania.

In 2015 the villa and the antiquarium were visited by 23,247 visitors.

The first information regarding a Roman period building in Minori dates back to the "Documents and Acts of the Archaeological Commission of the Province of the Principato Ctier" (1873-74), in which L. Stabiano wrote about the discovery of the "Roman baths".

In 1932 a collapse occurred during the renovation of some houses in the area led to the discovery of an underground chamber, belonging to the Roman villa. Excavations began in 1934, but some areas only came to light in 1950, particularly after 1954, when heavy precipitation hit the Amalfi Coast.
