Alpe di Siusi

The Alpe di Siusi, is a dolomitic plateau located in Italy, in South Tyrol, within the territory of the municipality of Castelrotto. It is located in the western part of the Dolomites and has an altitude between 1680 m a.s.l. and the 2350 m. It extends for 52 km² between Val Gardena in the north, the Sassolungo Group in the north-east and the Sciliar massif in the south-east, which with its unmistakable profile represents one of the most famous symbols of all the Dolomites.

Given the vastness of the area, from here it is possible to admire several other mountain groups: among others, the Sella Group, the Seceda, the Catinaccio and the Marmolada. It is an alp, that is an area where pasture is practiced, the largest in Europe, divided into numerous plots dedicated to grazing or from which the farmers obtain hay for their farms located downstream.

From the alp you can enjoy a 360 ° panoramic view; clockwise from the north: the Sass de Putia (2,873 m), the Odle and Puez Group (3,025 m), the Gran Cir, the Sella Group (3,152 m), the Sassolungo (3,181 m) and Sassopiatto (2,995 m), the Marmolada (3,343 m), the San Martino blades, the Vajolet towers, the Catinaccio group (2,981 m), with the top of the Catinaccio d'Antermoia (3,002 m), and the Sciliar (2,450 m) .
