Rifugio Luigi Brioschi

The Luigi Brioschi refuge is a refuge located in the municipality of Pasturo, in the province of Lecco at 2,410 m on the summit of Northern Grigna, in the Lombard Prealps. The refuge, owned by the CAI of Milan, was inaugurated on 10 October 1895 with the name of Capanna Grigna Vetta on a project by the engineer Giannino Ferrini.

It was, on the Italian side of the Alps, the second hut opened on the summit after the Regina Margherita observatory hut started in 1890 by the Italian Alpine Club of Turin on the Gnifetti peak of Monte Rosa at an altitude of 4 550 m. In 1926, following an expansion financed largely by Luigi Brioschi, it changed its name to Luigi Brioschi refuge.

In 1944, during the Second World War, it was set on fire and destroyed and rebuilt in 1948.
