Rifugio Cinque Torri

Immersed in a spectacular surrounding, the Cinque Torri refuge is located at the foot of the 5 Torri on the south side. Inaugurated in October 1904, it is one of the oldest historical structures in the area. Since 1937 it has been managed by the Alberti "Lelo" family.

A popular destination for generations of climbers from all over the world, it hosted princes and rulers from all over Europe, before and after the Great War. In 1916 King Vittorio Emanuele III stopped here during the visit to the front to witness the explosion of the Castelletto mine.

From the Cinque Torri refuge you can reach the dozens of routes of the 5 Torri rock gym in a few minutes, suitable for both beginners and expert climbers and the open-air museum of the Great War with the trenches and the restored positions of the First World War.

With less than an hour's walk you reach the top of the Nuvolau, at almost 2600 m altitude, to enjoy one of the most exciting panoramas of the Dolomites. Or in even less time you get to the attack of the Averau via ferrata.
