The Castle of Santo Niceto, or Motta Santo Niceto is a Byzantine fortification.
Built in the first half of the 11th century on the top of a rocky hill, one of those that dominate the city of Reggio Calabria, near the town of Motta San Giovanni.
It represents one of the few examples of Calabrian high medieval architecture, as well as one of the few Byzantine fortifications subjected to restoration and recovery work to be visited by the public.
