Rocca Monaldecshi

Famous throughout Italy for its pretty lake, Bolsena is a delightful village overlooking the lake of the same name, with dark local stone houses reminiscent of an ancient fishing village. There are many enchanting views, especially in the area around the fortress, which dominates the entire village massively.

We are talking about the Rocca Monaldeschi della Cervara, an ancient way with an imposing mass on whose towers the municipal banner with yellow-red bands flutters. Considered one of the most representative monuments of Bolsena, the Rocca Monaldeschi is a massive square-plan building garnished with four towers. The castle was built by the Orvietans between the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries.

Later, under the Monaldeschi, various renovations were carried out which transformed the fortress from a fortress into an elegant residence. They are therefore responsible for the current appearance of the castle.
