The National Archaeological Museum of Cagliari is the most important archaeological museum in Sardinia.
Located since 1993 within the museum complex of the Cittadella dei musei, in spaces designed by architects Piero Gazzola and Libero Cecchini.
Its showcases display many of Sardinia's most significant artifacts mainly from the provinces of Cagliari and Oristano, although there is no shortage of precious objects found in the island's other provinces. The materials on display date from the prehistoric period to the Byzantine era.
