Department of Visual Arts - Municipality of Soresina - On December 1, 2018, the Department of Visual Arts of the Municipality of Soresina comes to life, a new cultural reality in the field of contemporary art understood in its various meanings. Promoted by the Municipal Administration, under the curatorial guidance of Dr. Francesco Raffaele Mutti and the artist Riccardo Bonfadini, promoters of the initiative in the institutional setting, the new Department has the ambitious goal of conveying experiences related to artistic language to the municipal area contemporary by promoting its study and interaction with the community itself. Precisely in this context, the exhibition proposals will have both a national and international character, now historicized, now future: for Soresina, these will be a guarantee of renewed visibility and a stimulus to a confrontation that will be ever more intense and enlarged, in the context of a national artistic stage. who is always looking for new subjects to talk to. The exhibition proposal will focus both on history - with some personal exhibitions of famous names of poor art, analytical art and artistic currents that have made the fortune of our country in the last fifty years in the pipeline; and about the future, through the regulated and reasoned presence of some of the most talented young artists that Italy can boast in its entire territory. The relationship with abroad is also fundamental, through some collaborations with well-known international artists who know how to convey the Soresinese territory as an open and sensitive interlocutor even across the border.
Multidisciplinary will also be the artistic choice: not only painting and sculpture but also photography, video, performances and installations with a strong contemporary character. Common denominators will be those of an awareness of new languages ??and new technologies as well as of a concrete push towards knowledge and understanding of art as synonyms of a reciprocal cultural growth, today more relevant than ever and aimed at the development of a community that want to define himself as such. In this sense, the Department strongly hopes for a transversal interest that is not only interdisciplinary but also social and, consequently, territorial: in this perspective, at the same time the Department opens the Soresina CONTEMPORARY AREA project, a real container of artistic experiences which will define the artistic interventions in the area in an increasingly precise manner.
In fact, in addition to the historic exhibition venues that the Municipality can always boast - including those of the new Department of Visual Arts, now renewed in appearance and function - they will want to actively and positively contaminate other structures in the area. to ensure the widest possible scope for the project and a more widespread development of external interest in the interventions. Therefore involvement and sharing, visibility and, consequently, new development opportunities.
