Former Convent of St. Francis of Paola

Building from the 1700s restored to become a museum center.

Until the 18th century it was a small structure located in a room below the convent of St. Francis of Paola. It was built at different times: first the large chapel and the two side chapels to the high altar were built (1701-1732), and in later years the rest of the structure was built, which was decorated only in the early 19th century.

Inside is preserved a wooden statue of the saint of the same name, made by Girolamo Bagnasco. In the vaults of the single nave, chapel and transept are frescoes executed by Francesco Cutrona of Trapani. The dome is decorated with 18th-century frescoes attributed to Vito D'Anna.
