The Catino Castle is located in the Province of Rieti and is a beautiful castle that stands on the top of Poggio Catino, in the Sabine Mountains.
Built by the Lombards for military purposes, it has a pentagonal base and a very high tower, a feature that makes the castle one of a kind. It is called "Catino" precisely because it overlooks the namesake chasm, from which the town also takes its name.
