Museum of Modern Art w Warszawie - The Vistula Museum

In the spring of 2017 the Museum opened its new exhibition space (called "the Vistula Museum" to distinguish it from the museum located on Paaska 3 street.
The Vistula Museum is located at Wybrzeze Kosciuszkowskie 22, next to the Copernicus Science Center and the University of Warsaw Library, in a pavilion designed by the Austrian architect Adolf Krischanitz.

This pavilion was previously (between 2008 and 2010) used as a temporary home for the Kunsthalle in Berlin. It was lent to the Museum free of charge by the Viennese contemporary foundation Thyssen-Bornermisza Art, founded in 2002 by Francesca bon Habsburg, which disseminates experimental art and architecture.

The Vistula Facade Museum, in accordance with the architect's design, will be completely covered with paintings.

In 2016 Sàawomir Pawszak won the competition for the facade project. His work will be applied to the building's heights in the spring of 2017, after the Museum opens for business. The pavilion will also house a café, bookstores and a small education center. It is surrounded by terraces perfect for outdoor activities.
