The Egyptian State Museum (Staatliches Museum Ägyptischer Kunst) in Munich dates back to the collection of Duke Albert V of Bavaria.
He is currently in the Munich Residence, but it is a temporary accommodation; in fact, a new building is under construction, opposite the Old Picture Gallery in the Kunstareal museum district.
