Space data for Cultural Heritage and UNESCO sites

The Veneto region in Italy, as part of its Digital Agenda, organizes the second edition of the European challenge “VeneToStars” which invites teams of young innovators to present creative and original proposals using data and/or space technologies for the protection of cultural heritage. The finalists will be hosted in Venice where they will present their ideas at the international event Space Meetings Veneto in May 2024.

The Veneto Region is looking for teams of passionate and talented European innovators aged between 18 and 25, who have a winning idea to address the challenges related to the protection of cultural heritage - starting from the Region's UNESCO sites - using spatial data. Applications will remain open until April 15, 2024. The competition is open to teams (2-7 people) made up of recent graduates, students and young professionals.

The 10 best teams will be informed by 19 April and rewarded with a stay in Venice, where they will discover the opportunities of the area, visit research centers and present their project during the Space Meetings Veneto which will be held from 20 to 22 May 2024. The The Pitch winning team will be invited to participate in a tailor-made one-week program in Veneto which includes meetings, coaching and consultancy activities to concretely apply their idea, with the support of experts.
