Archaeological Park of Manduria of the Messapic Walls

The Archaeological Area of Manduria is located in the region of Puglia, Italy, and is one of the most important areas for the ancient Messapian civilization.

The area includes several archaeological sites, including the San Pietro in Bevagna and Ossimo necropolises, where numerous pit, chamber, and tholos tombs have been found.

Among the most important discoveries are artifacts such as pottery, jewelry, and weapons, which document the artisanal and commercial activities of the Messapians, an ancient Italic people who settled in the area between the 9th and 3rd centuries BCE.

The Archaeological Area of Manduria is open to visitors, and guided tours are available to learn about the history and traditions of the Messapians, as well as to enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside.

In addition, cultural events and exhibitions are organized throughout the year to promote awareness of the area and its archaeological remains.
