Villa Stucky

Ancient villa of noble families, the villa was built in the early 1800s by Lady Giorgia Amalia Seymour, Countess of Durfort. The noblewoman, a lover of greenery and trees, surrounded the building by a beautiful English garden and a small wood.

After his death, in 1831, the Villa passed to the Dalla Vida family, who commissioned the architect Negrin to expand the grove, managing to obtain a specially undulating land, a magnificent park. At the beginning of the last century, the Villa was purchased by the Stucky, of Austrian origin, noble owners of the well-known, homonymous mills of Venice, who demolished it to build the current building which is characterized by its Central European lines, well different from the simple and severe lines of the Venetian villas.

In 1917 the Villa became the headquarters of the Third Army Command. A recently placed plaque recalls that the recovery and plans of the victorious final offensive on the Piave were prepared in the halls of the Villa.
