Roman Curia Iulia

Curia Iulia, the ancient meeting place of the Roman Senate, currently closed to the public.

Located in the north-western sector of the Forum, the Curia was built on the initiative of Julius Caesar, but was completed and inaugurated by Augustus in 29 BC. Restored by Domitian in 94 AD, it was entirely rebuilt by Diocletian after the fire of 283 AD.

Guided tours will allow you to understand the function and significance of the monument over the course of antiquity and through the transformations from the Middle Ages to the great restoration of the 1930s.
