Davis-Monthan Air Force Base


Davis-Monthan Air Force Base is a United States Air Force military base, operated by Air Combat Command and located near the city of Tucson, Arizona (USA).

Today's facility was activated in 1927, and is named after Lieutenant Samuel H. Davis Jr., killed on December 28, 1921 and Lieutenant Oscar Monthan, killed on March 27, 1924.

Currently the host unit is the 355th Fighter Wing.

The following departments are present: USAF, HQ Twelfth Air Force, 55th Electronic Combat Group 55th Wing, 214th Attack Group 162nd Wing Air National Guard, 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group Air Force Materiel Command, 563rd Rescue Group 23rd Wing, 924th Fighter Group 944th Fighter Wing Air Force Reserve Command and 943rd Rescue Group 920th Rescue Wing Air Force Reserve Command.
