Correr Museum


The Correr Museum is one of the most important and representative museums in the city of Venice.

It is located in the San Marco district, near Piazza San Marco, and is part of the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia.

It illustrates, in the various sections and in the varied and rich collections, the art, civilization and history of Venice.

Google Arts & Culture
Thanks to the collaboration between the Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia and the Google Cultural Institute, the Correr Museum is present on Google Arts & Culture: an online platform through which the public from all over the world can access high-resolution images of the works of art. arte part of the collections of partner museums of the initiative, with the aim of democratizing access to culture and promoting its conservation for future generations.

51 high resolution images of some of the most representative works of the collection and of the museum itinerary have been uploaded for the Correr Museum.

These include masterpieces such as Gentile Bellini's Portrait of Doge Mocenigo, Vittore Carpaccio's Two Venetian Ladies, Antonello da Messina's Pietà, Giovanni Bellini's Madonna and Child, Jacopo de Barbari's splendid Perspective View of Venice and the two statues of Antonio Canova Orfeo and Euridice decorating the spectacular ballroom.
