Bridge of the Maddalena - Devil's Bridge

The Bridge of the Maddalena (called Devil's Bridge) crosses the Serchio river near Borgo a Mozzano, in the province of Lucca. Following its shape, its highest, broadest and most particular arch, almost inhuman, this engineering pearl is the subject of many tales.

The Ponte della Maddalena is commonly identified as the "Devil's Bridge".

Like many other enterprises that seemed impossible to the contemporaries, popular legend attributes its construction to the devil, who is then cheated in various ways.

Damage caused at the last flood of 2019.
