Civic Archaeological Museum of Bologna - Galvani Palace

The Civic Archaeological Museum of Bologna has been housed in the fifteenth-century Galvani Palace since its official inauguration, which took place on 25 September 1881.

It houses the rich archaeological collections from the ancient University Museum from the donation of the painter Pelagio Palagi and from the excavations conducted in Bologna and the territory between the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century.

The Museum ranks among the most important Italian archaeological collections and is above all representative of local history, from prehistory to the Roman age.
