Mario Torelli National Archaeological Museum of the Archaeological Park and Catacombs of Venosa

Mario Torelli National Archaeological Museum of the Archaeological Park and Catacombs of Venosa, in the province of Potenza, is set up inside the Aragonese Castle. Inaugurated in 1991, it houses the finds from the archaeological areas of Notarchirico and ancient Venusia.

Since December 2014, the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities has managed it through the Basilicata Museum Complex, which in December 2019 became the Regional Directorate of Museums.

On 17 May 2021, on the occasion of the inauguration of the new layout, the Museum was named after the archaeologist Mario Torelli.
