Villa Ferdinandeo del Cacciatore

Villa Ferdinandeo del Cacciatore is a palace located in Trieste, located on the top of the Chiadino hill in Cacciatore. The main facade is located on via Carlo de Marchesetti while the side entrance is located in Largo Caduti di Nasiriya.

The monumental building was erected between 1856 and 1858 to a design by the architect Friedrich Hitzig (Berlin, 1811-1881) in honor of the emperor Ferdinand I of Habsburg, who in 1844 donated the Farneto forest, today city park commonly called Boschetto, and on the edge of which stands the palace.

At the center of the balustrade on the upper part of the building is a sculptural group composed of the Justices and the Glory, with the bust of Emperor Ferdinand I in the center with the inscription "RECTA TUERI" underneath.

The building initially housed the Hotel Ferdinandeo for a few decades, and was then used for various activities. Following the concession by the municipality of Trieste, owner of the building, since 1999 the building has been the headquarters of the MIB Trieste School of Management.
