Stones of the Incavallicata - Virtual Tour 360°

Also called Stones of the Incavallicata, the Giants of Bell are two rock formations shrouded in mystery. Located in the Sila National Park, over the years they have been the subject of studies on their origin, still not fully defined.

Many believe that the two rock formations are as many megalithic sculptures. Despite this, there is a lack of certainty regarding the origins of the two megaliths. Historians, archaeologists and scholars have been interested in the Campania mystery, advancing many theories over time.

At first the Stone Giants were approached to Hannibal: the Carthaginian leader, according to the reconstructions, would have erected the monuments on the occasion of the campaigns aimed at conquering Sybaris and Crotone.

A current of thought maintains that they are the result of human ingenuity and that it was an ancient civilization dating back thousands of years to sculpt them.

Another hypothesis, however, embraces the idea that these two sculptures are natural and that over the years it has been the various atmospheric phenomena that have modeled them and given them the form with which they have come down to the present day.
