Institute of Russian Culture and Language


The Institute of Russian Culture and Language is a cultural institution established in Rome in 1991, which continues the tradition started in 1946 by the Italy-Russia Association, which places the knowledge of the Russian language and culture at the center of its activity through courses of Russian for Italians, study stays and cultural trips in the most important cities of the Russian Federation and in some CIS countries.


The Institute is a center of excellence for the teaching of the Russian language, which counts among its diplomatic students, journalists, professionals, business executives, who have established themselves in their respective fields of work and have contributed in a concrete way to the development cultural, artistic, economic and technical-scientific collaboration between our countries.


The Institute also promotes the study of Italian for Russian speakers and organizes conferences, exhibitions, film reviews, debates, book presentations and meetings with cultural and professional personalities.


In carrying out these activities, it makes use of the collaboration of public and private Russian, Italian and other countries, and of the experience accumulated in the Task Force of the Ministry of Foreign Trade for the Tacis / Phare Programs for Russia and the countries of the area. post-Soviet and Eastern European.
