The Carpigiani Gelato Museum

The Carpigiani Gelato Museum is a museum space dedicated to the history, culture and technology of artisan gelato, located in Anzola dell'Emilia in the province of Bologna.

It was created by the "Bruto and Poerio Carpigiani Foundation" and is considered the first ice cream museum in the world.

The museum, whose architectural and museographic design is by architects Matteo Caravatti and Chiara Gugliotta with the artistic direction of Bipiuci, is located inside the headquarters of Carpigiani S.p.A. which, by renovating 2200 m², has converted a section of the production departments into an exhibition space that traces the fundamental stages in the history of ice cream, including technological development and consumption methods.

Opened in September 2012, the museum tells the story of ice cream, which began 12,000 years BC. The structure is located in the headquarters of the Carpigiani company, and includes an exhibition area of ??over 1000 square meters, which winds along a path divided into five large thematic areas.
