Building of the Palazzo Farnese - House of Pleasure

Casale of Alessandro Farnese, isolated and in a dominant position over the entire monumental complex with a spectacular view of the Roman countryside.

A Barco per la Caccia, or "a barchitto" as the great Cardinal Alessandro Farnese called it, a pleasant place where hunting was just a pretext to brighten up boring days, organize events, hunting trips to entertain its guests.

He took care to create the monumental complex with the Casina del Piacere, the fountains, including the one with the large glass surmounted by the two mighty statues, the basin below, and the various water games.

It was probably Giacomo del Duca who took care of the scenographic impact between the silver fir grove and the perspective axis on the fountain of the glass and the Casina del Piacere.

The Casina del Piacere is located in the center of this complex, also in a dominant position with a great view that swept across the Roman countryside.

Odoardo Farnese, also a skilled client, who took care to complete the works in the park and around the Casina del Piacere.
