Damsgård Country Mansion

Damsgård Manor è un maniero e una tenuta di riferimento a Bergen, in Norvegia. È noto per il suo distinto stile rococò ed è forse l'edificio in legno meglio conservato dell'Europa del XVIII secolo.

L'area che circonda il maniero era molto probabilmente popolata durante l'era vichinga o prima, ma le prove letterarie mostrano che era un centro abitato nel 1427, elencato come proprietà della chiesa. In seguito alla Riforma del 1536, il feudo fu rilevato dalla corona e poi venduto a interessi stranieri.

Damsgård is one of the few Rococo architectural style buildings in Norway and is unusual as a Rococo wooden structure in Europe. The facade of the main building exaggerates the size of the house itself and two windows are painted to create symmetry.

The interior layout of the building has been brought back to its original plan, at the beginning of the 18th century, and the interior to the different eras of Damsgård's history.
