Villa Zerbi

The Villa Zerbi is located in Taurianova di Reggio Calabria and was built in 1786, in a Sicilian Baroque style, from a project attributable to the Monteleonese architect, Filippo Frangipane.

The front of the building is characterized by a refined gray granite portal, flanked by pilasters and surmounted by a window highlighted by a play of movements in a late Baroque style. The volutes of the wrought iron balconies are supported by shelves decorated with stone masks. Precious testimony of the artisan skills of Calabrian stonecutters and decorators, engaged in the rebirth after the earthquake of 1783.

In 2002 it was restored by Natale Zerbi, in compliance with the protection of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism and included among the Calabrian historic houses of particular historical and artistic interest.
