Villa Wallner

The soft contour of the Veronese hills is the natural setting of Villa Wallner, a large and complex complex of buildings whose original core dates back to 1500. Villa Wallner has grown over the centuries, passing from one of its owners to the other, each of which brought and left something of itself in it, starting with Lattanzio Fiorentino who in 1777 built the first structures of the complex, to reach Marta Wallner to which it currently belongs.

But we cannot forget the family of the Serego counts, who owned and enlarged the villa between the 16th and 17th centuries; the Marquis Gherardini who, starting from 1630, with their building works made the building the most beautiful and imposing of Montorio, worthy of hosting the future Cardinal Gianfrancesco Barbarigo in its rooms; the lawyer Michelangelo Smania who during the 1800s had the fountain of Neptune built in the internal courtyard which is still there and also enriched the villa with an important collection of Greek and Latin epigraphs.

An ancient place, therefore, that carries within itself the singular charm of time, traces of past life, lived moments, not forgotten stories; but also a place that lives again, that knows how to welcome the signs of the present in its composed elegance, the indispensable innovations of a restoration aimed at creating a modern, practical, multifunctional situation, an environment suited to any type of meeting, without losing the historical charm of the villa, enhanced by this synthesis of past and present.
