Villa Bembo

Villa Bembo, a splendid period villa for sale dating back to the 16th century, is located a short distance from Venice, in the heart of the agricultural context in the municipality of Mirano, in an area rich in historic villas. The typology is of stately villa with adjacent barn.

The main body with a rectangular plan for a total of 570 square meters, with a central hall, on three levels, where two independent housing units have been created; the hipped roof is of excellent workmanship and makes the attic very welcoming.

Adjacent to the main body is the barchessa organized on two levels with a portico of five round arches, where two residential units have been organized on the sides; there is a further central pass-through porch for access to an extension of the building used as a tool shed/warehouse of about 700 square meters with numerous windows and completely renovated.

Over the years, the architectural complex has undergone transformation interventions which have however left the internal spaces structured around the passageways intact. The original layout dates back to the 16th century and evidence of this remains in the Venetian floors and ceilings in the style of Sansovino.

The house was completely renovated in 1831 and restored in 1982. The Villa is surrounded by a beautiful English park (about 4 ha), where there is a large central body of water. Around this stand an octagonal wooden gazebo that dates back to the end of the 19th century, an ancient still efficient icebox and a well curb richly carved in bas-relief. Not far from the Villa stands the late sixteenth-century dovecote, in the shape of a tower with a square base accessible in the lower part through the four arches under which a path in the park passes.

In the park there is still a semicircular paved path that goes inland and cuts through a small hill; it is the ancient route that allowed the carriages coming from the villa to turn around easily.

The Villa Bembo hosts the APS has as its social purpose the study, research and dissemination of knowledge in the field of nutrition, motor activities, art and tourism for the psychophysical well-being of the person and environmental protection.

For the pursuit of the statutory purposes, APS promotes cultural activities such as conventions, conferences, seminars, debates, courses and exhibitions; training activities for members through internships, laboratories, workshops; publishing activities through the press and multimedia channels for the dissemination of research and study results; recreational activities such as dinners, outings, concerts, theatre, photography, etc.
