Villa Farsetti

Villa Farsetti is a Venetian villa built in the agricultural context of the Municipality of Santa Maria di Sala, in the province of Venice, by the Sienese architect Paolo Posi. The work, built in the thirty years between 1744 and 1774, was commissioned by Filippo Farsetti.

The origin of this villa dates back even before 1200, in which according to the old and authentic documents it belonged to the patrician family of Padua, the Salas. In the mid-1700s, the old building was demolished and the abbot Filippo Farsetti built his villa there, building gardens, labyrinths, cedar woods, greenhouses, groves and the botanical garden.
