Hermitage of San Giorgio

The Hermitage of San Giorgio is an ancient monastery that stands in a very panoramic position on the promontory of the same name that dominates the eastern coast of Lake Garda from 300 meters high, where from 862 to 1532 stood the small church of St. George.

It was some Camaldolese monks who settled in 1665, a community that still takes care of it today. After the entrance and passed the first square, you enter the church of San Giorgio.

There is a cloistered area with eight cells, each with a small vegetable garden intended to provide sustenance for the monks. On the top of the short hill the religious have placed a Via Crucis, while around the hermitage there are suggestive and well-marked paths that can be traveled easily.

The guesthouse welcomes individuals, men and women, who intend to share the monks' prayer and work for a few days.
