Vatican Museums - Apartment of San Pio V

In the Vatican Museums there is the Apartment of St. Pius V which includes the gallery, two rooms and a chapel. It was commissioned by Pope Pius V (1566-1572) and frescoed by Giorgio Vasari and Federico Zuccari. There are Flemish tapestries from the 15th and 16th centuries on display.

In the two small rooms adjacent to the Gallery there are: in the first, a rich collection of medieval and Renaissance ceramics found in the Vatican Palaces and in some extraterritorial buildings in Rome; in the second, an evocative collection of minute mosaics produced in Rome from the end of the 18th century to the first half of the 19th century.
