Villa Pisani National Museum

Villa Pisani, also known as the Nazionale, is one of the most famous examples of a Venetian villa on the Riviera del Brenta.

It is located in Stra, in the province of Venice, and overlooks the Naviglio del Brenta.

It is now home to a national museum, which houses works of art and furnishings from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

It was built starting from 1721 on a project by Gerolamo Frigimelica (who also designed the Palazzo Pisani in Campo Francesco Morosini or Santo Stefano in Venice, current seat of the Conservatory) and Francesco Maria Preti for the noble Venetian family of Pisani di Santo Stefano.

Inside you can see the fresco of the ballroom, which celebrates the Apotheosis of the Pisani family by Giambattista Tiepolo.
